The Division of Biomaterials Science and Engineering, Tohoku University Graduate School of Dentistry is a laboratory taking charge of research and education in tissue engineering, bio-engineering and biomaterial sciences in oral and orthopedic studies. The Division of Craniofacial Function Engineering (CFE) was established in 2004 inside the Graduate School of Dentistry and reorganaized into the Divison of Biomaterials Science and Engineering in 2025. We are focusing our research on the hard tissue regeneration, including bones, cartilages and teeth. One of purposes of the research is to create artificial tissue engineering measure using novel biomaterials developed to follow physiological biomineralization.
